5 SaaS Metrics Every Vibe Coder Must Track

You shipped your SaaS product — now what? These five metrics separate hobby projects from real businesses.

Beyond the Build

Shipping is step one. But the difference between a side project and a business comes down to measurement. Here are the five numbers every vibe-coded SaaS founder needs to know.

1. Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)

This is your north star. MRR tells you what your business earns predictably every month. Track it weekly, celebrate every milestone, and never confuse one-time revenue with recurring.

2. Churn Rate

How many customers leave each month? A 5% monthly churn means you're replacing half your customer base every year. For micro-SaaS, aim for under 3%.

3. Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)

What does it cost to get one paying customer? If you're using content marketing and SEO (which you should be), this can approach near-zero over time.

4. Lifetime Value (LTV)

How much total revenue does an average customer generate? The magic ratio: LTV should be at least 3x your CAC. If it's not, fix your retention before scaling acquisition.

5. Activation Rate

What percentage of signups actually use your core feature? This is where most vibe-coded products leak. A beautiful landing page means nothing if users bounce after signup.

The Dashboard You Need

Build a simple dashboard (yes, vibe code it) that shows these five metrics updated daily. When you can see the numbers, you can move the numbers.

The builders who track these metrics are the ones who turn weekend projects into six-figure exits.
